Coach: Rob Heyn #801-694-3783 or #801-274-2200 Assistant Coach: Mike Root Rob Heyn lives in East Millcreek and attended East High and the University of Utah. He and his wife have two daughters. Rob has worked as a real estate agent for 15 years and also owns a small business and it allows him to keep a flexible schedule and be involved in coaching. He grew up playing competitive sports and has coached over 8 years both in recreation and competition soccer. He began coaching his daughter and friends in recreation soccer and has enjoyed watching the players and teams improve every year. He looks forward to coaching the Wasatch Jr.High team for the 2011 fall season. Rob believes in teaching the fundamentals of the game and at the same time developing a love of the game. He believes in supporting other interests as well as soccer to develop well rounded players. He takes pride in his team and appreciates all the hard work and dedication it takes to be a successful player. Mike Root has lived in Holladay for 30 years. He and his wife Susan have six children. He is a graduate of BYU. (sorry Rob). He works in companies with technical infrastructure as a Sr. Analyst. He began coaching his kids and friends in recreational baseball, basketball, and soccer some 20 years ago. As his younger girls got older in recreational soccer, he began coaching in competition, first assisting with Impact United, then with the Salt Lake Scorpions. He has assisted Rob Heyn for the spring 2011 season. He has helped coach the Olympus Jr. High girl's soccer team for four years, with one year as head coach. Mike gets great satisfaction from watching the growth and development of young athletes. "It is the best source of renewable energy I can think of," he says. He believes coaching soccer gives back to coaches much more than it takes.
